In South Tapanuli regency, North Sumatra, Indonesia, a 45-year-old man named Parlindungan Siregar is accused of murdering his 60-year-old neighbor, Asgim Irianto, after being repeatedly questioned about his unmarried status, which reportedly irritated him.
The incident occurred on July 29, according to reports from Indonesian media. Asgim Irianto, a retired civil servant, was attacked at his home around 8pm, as confirmed by Assistant Police Commissioner Maria Marpaung on July 31, via Detik Jogja.
