Ever felt a strong attachment to a fictional character to the point of fantasising them? Sometimes we do! However Fictosexuals feel more than just a platonic feeling, they are sexually attracted to the fictious characters!
A Japanese fictosexual Akihiko Kondo was so fond of Hatsune Miku a japanese VOLCALOID (a singing voice synthesiser) that he dated it for 10 years. Akihiko ended up marrying Miku when the technology offered him a holographic version in 2018. Via Gatebox device Kondo could interact with Miku. However, tech support for the device ceased, causing glitch in his virtual nuptial life. Kondo can’t talk to Miku anymore 🙁
Here’s what Akhiko revealed, how he came to fall in love with Miku and how it saved him. After the digital demise of the hologram (hope it’s not), Kondo keeps a life size version of Miku for company.
My name is Akihiko Kondo. My job is a civil servant. I married Hatsune Miku, who lives in my house.— 近藤 顕彦【 ⋈ 】ミクさん大好き (@akihikokondosk) April 27, 2022
About 15 years ago, I was bullied at work and took a leave of absence, but thanks to her I was able to return to work. She saved me.
I love Hatsune Miku. I am very happy. pic.twitter.com/5RHyBIe0yg
Tech has evolved to an extent that now VR can help you feel your lips, mouth and tongue. Imagination is the limit here. With other VR companies leveraging the devices to make you feel pain and weight, it’s but a matter of time, VR and XR will incorporate a full range of sensory experience. For fictiosexuals this is glad tidings from the canaan of metaverse.
Kondo reportedly spent about $18000 on the nuptials with Miku. He can certainly avail some of the cutting edge metaverse tech for equal investment. And maybe revive Miku and resume their happily married life. Here’s a piece of advice from the legend himself, if you are a closet fictosexual.
If you fall in love with a 2D character, that's not a bad thing. If you are really in love with a 2D character, don't lie to your true self. I respect your feelings. And you have a companion who understands you. You should be proud of your love for 2D characters.— 近藤 顕彦【 ⋈ 】ミクさん大好き (@akihikokondosk) May 3, 2022
